Airlines operating the route

LATAM Airlines is the main carrier with the highest frequency (4-6 daily). It offers different fare categories: Light (carry-on only), Economy and Economy Plus. Flights depart early morning and midday.

Sky Airline operates 2-3 daily flights with generally cheaper fares. A good option if you book in advance.

Flight prices

Prices vary significantly based on how far ahead you book. As a 2026 reference: booking 3-4 weeks ahead, you can find flights from S/ 150 one-way. During peak season (June-August, national holidays, New Year), prices can rise to S/ 300-500 per leg. The trick is to book at least a month ahead and be flexible with dates.

Iquitos Airport

Iquitos airport is small and easy to navigate with a single terminal. Outside you'll find taxis and mototaxis. A taxi to downtown costs S/ 10-15 (negotiate before getting in). A mototaxi costs S/ 5-7 but isn't recommended with large luggage.

What about arriving by river?

It's possible to reach Iquitos by boat from Yurimaguas (2-3 days via the Huallaga and Marañón rivers) or from Pucallpa (4-5 days via the Ucayali River). It's an adventurous experience but requires time and preparation. Boats are basic — bring a hammock, water and extra food. Not recommended for travelers with limited time.

Best time to fly to Iquitos

Iquitos can be visited year-round. Dry season (June to October) has less rain and higher prices. Wet season (November to May) brings afternoon showers but the jungle is greener and swollen rivers allow navigation into areas inaccessible during dry season. Both seasons are great — each has its charm.
